Warung PINTU (Warpin)
PINTU has a semi-annual Indonesian food night, Warung PINTU or more famously known as Warpin, which could be enjoyed by all Indonesian students in NTU.
It featured many Indonesian foods such as perkedel, ayam suwir, and wedang ronde. All were sold at an incredibly discounted price. No dishes were above $3, yet profit was still generated. The items were homemade by the Division of Welfare and turned out to be quite popular as most items were sold out during the first hour of Warpin.
The warung was opened at 7 pm at the benches near the football field. Surprisingly, some students turned up at the venue earlier than the food did, which led to hilarious situation. Perkedel was the first to sell out. Who can say no to 3 perkedels priced at a dollar? In Singapore especially! The whole experience was delightful.
“Dibs on the Gulai!”
Students got to enjoy their beloved Indonesian foods at cheap price and it was a fun bonding (and cooking) experience for both the committees and the students.
